A full time trial lawyer for over 30 years, Jay Elmore has successfully represented Fortune 500 corporations as well as individuals and smaller businesses in jury trials, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, mediations and appeals around the nation in a variety of litigation matters including partnership and contract disputes, products liability, hospital law, personal injury, real estate, business torts, construction, environmental and franchise disputes in addition to class actions.  Jay has also served as a neutral mediator and arbitrator.

Jay has been chosen as a Georgia “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics Media and Atlanta Magazine for each year since the awards’ inception in 2004.  He has been called on by clients from around the country to defend class action matters in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, California, Ohio, Nevada, Texas and Connecticut and has  been successful in defeating class certification in cases seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from his clients.  He serves as chair of Georgia’s ICLE Class Action Seminar and is an adjunct professor of law at Emory University Law School where he teaches class action law.  He is also a frequent lecturer at seminars around the country and abroad and has published numerous articles on class actions.

Jay has served as president of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, Chair of the Emory Law School Council, Chair of the Board of Consultants of Emory Law Journal and chair of numerous national state and local bar association committees.  Jay has also served on the Faculty of the Atlanta College of Trial Advocacy and is a Master and a member of the executive committee of the Lamar Inn of Court.  Jay is a Fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia. 

Jay is a director of a variety of community service organizations and was awarded the League of Women voters Good Government Award for his pro bono legal work.  Jay served on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973.
