Lisa Strauss’ practice focuses on representing corporations and individuals in business disputes.  Ms. Strauss has handled a broad range of commercial litigation, including business torts, real estate disputes, trust and estates litigation, and intellectual property litigation.  Recent matters include: representing trustees in defense of multi-million dollar trust disputes; defending major energy and other commodities corporations in complex civil litigation in both federal and state courts; and representing individuals as well as Fortune 100 and closely held corporations in contractual disputes and business torts cases involving fraud, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, securities fraud and violations of Georgia RICO.  Ms. Strauss has substantial appellate experience at all levels of the Georgia Courts as well as alternative dispute resolution, including AAA and JAMS Arbitrations. 

Ms. Strauss has been named a “Georgia Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Atlanta magazine, a listing of the top 2.5 percent of up-and-coming attorneys in Georgia who are either under 40 or who have been practicing ten or fewer years since 2006.

Prior to joining Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, Ms. Strauss was a law clerk to the Honorable Orinda D. Evans, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.  Ms. Strauss graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University, College of Law, where she was an editor on the Law Review.  She received her B.A. from Tulane University magna cum laude with honors in history.  Ms. Strauss is from Charleston, South Carolina, where she was the First Honor Graduate at Ashley Hall.

Ms. Strauss is actively involved in the bar and community.  She has served on the Board of Directors of Atlanta Legal Aid since 2006 and prior to that served on its Advisory Committee.   Ms. Strauss was a member of the 2007 class of L.E.A.D. Atlanta, a Leadership Atlanta initiative for professionals under the age of thirty-three.  She has been a member of the Junior League of Atlanta, which services and supports local service organizations involving women and children in need, since 2004.  She currently serves on the State Bar of Georgia Disciplinary Review Panel.
