Emmet Bondurant to be Awarded Georgia Indigent Defense Council's 2001 Harold G. Clarke Equal Justice Award
Emmet has been selected to be the recipient of the Georgia Indigent Defense Council's 2001 Harold G. Clarke Equal Justice Award. The award is given to an individual in recognition of their long term commitment and dedication to the cause of insuring equal justice to all of Georgia's citizens. Past winners are Ed and Mary Ruth Weir of the New Hope House, Hon. Norman Fletcher, H.B. Nicholson, Bettye H. Kehrer, Hon. Thomas B. Murphy (Speaker of the House). The award will be presented at the Council's Annual Awards Reception on August 10.
About the Clarke Award: The award is named after former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Harold G. Clarke, who was the first recipient of the award.
