Chambers and Partners Names BME “Leading Lawyers for Business” Three Times Running

Chambers and Partners is a London-based publisher of guides designed to help the international business community identify the World's Best Business Lawyers. Chambers touts its guides as independent, objective, and based upon both extensive peer review research and interviews with major business consumers of legal services.

In June 2005, Chambers released the results of its peer-and-client research in the third edition of its Guide to Leading Business Lawyers in the U.S.  For the third consecutive time, BME rides high in Chambers’ rankings.  This year, Chambers singles out BME for excellence in both Antitrust and Litigation. According to Chambers’ research, “This litigation boutique boasts one of the best names in the Georgia marketplace.”  Four of the Firm’s ten partners were identified among Georgia’s best individual business litigators, including Emmet Bondurant, whom Chambers proclaims "The dean of the Georgia litigation bar:"

The Firm: This litigation boutique boasts one of the best names in the Georgia marketplace and is hailed as “a spectacular firm with experience in every type of dispute.” It stands out from many other Atlanta firms in that it represents plaintiffs as well as defendants. It also receives a great many referrals from other law firms. Securities, antitrust, white-collar crime, patent and employment disputes are all on the agenda alongside more general commercial matters.

The Lawyers: “The dean of the Georgia litigation bar,” Emmet Bondurant retains his crown for another year. He is “a fantastically experienced attorney who is genuinely at home in the courtroom.” In an impressive career, Bondurant has taken on securities cases, business litigation, products liability and white-collar crime; he remains particularly recommended for antitrust cases. Micky Mixson also earns praise as “a top-class litigator who can handle anything – he is the go-to guy on difficult, complex matters.” Researchers found, however, that he was particularly highly regarded for his securities work. The “superb” Jeffrey Bramlett is yet another attorney who boasts a truly wide practice; in his case, it is one that ranges from professional liability and insurance issues to personal injury and murder cases. John Floyd’s practice leans predominately to RICO and healthcare matters. He is rated as “an incredibly fine lawyer.”
